Once you’ve signed your tenancy, and before you move in, we take your first month’s rent and a security deposit of up to 5 weeks’ rent. Your deposit is registered with the Tenancy Deposit Scheme (TDS) on your behalf, so it’s protected for the whole tenancy and returned in line with the scheme’s rules at the end.
At the end of your tenancy, your deposit is returned in line with the scheme’s rules, with an independent dispute service if anything can’t be agreed. More about our schemes & protections →
Use the “Report a repair” button above and tell us what’s wrong. For genuine emergencies (gas, flooding, electrical danger), follow our emergency guidance and contact us straight away.
Your deposit is registered with the Tenancy Deposit Scheme (TDS) and returned at the end of the tenancy in line with the scheme’s rules.
Our tenancies have no fixed end date. Since 01/05/2026 all private tenancies in England are rolling (periodic) tenancies, usually month to month. You can stay until you decide to leave by giving two months’ notice, or until the landlord ends it on one of the legal grounds.
Under the Tenant Fees Act 2019, the payments we can ask for are limited — see our Fees page for the full, permitted list.
You can give notice at any time. Give us at least two months’ notice in writing — an email is fine — timed so your tenancy ends on a rent day or the day before one. Want to leave sooner? Ask us: a shorter notice is fine if the landlord agrees in writing (and, in a joint tenancy, all the tenants agree). We’ll confirm your end date in writing.
